last anti-Zionist Jewish person quits Labour

Jewish Voice for Labour’s (JVL’s) Jenny Manson, who believes she was the last remaining anti-Zionist Jew clinging to her membership of the Labour party, has dramatically quit the party with a withering blast at the collaboration of Keir Starmer and his party in Israel’s genocide in Gaza.

Jenny Manson quits Labour

Jenny Manson said:

I am resigning from the Labour Party today. The Labour government has failed to recognise the genocide in Gaza or to take any action against the full scale of all the Israeli government’s war crimes. The Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory is the latest expert body to find that Israel has committed genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.”

It is also impossible to support a party that has abandoned all ethical standards and betrayed the vulnerable. The government courts and copies the right. I am the daughter of a refugee. The Labour cabinet demonises refugees and all other immigrants, and feeds xenophobia, racism and intolerance.”

At ‘Your Show’ in Liverpool on September 29th and the press conference for the “the wrong sort of Jews…are right” on the morning of 30th September, I will call out HMG for its contemptuous rebuff of the letter signed by more that 300 Jews, addressed to Keir Starmer and Yvette Cooper demanding action to support the Palestinian people.”

These were the opening words of that letter:”

We are Jews who oppose the genocide by Israel against the Palestinian people, the reality of which is agonisingly on show every day on radio, television and social media. Opposing the brutality of genocide, apartheid, and ethnic cleansing taking place in Gaza and the West Bank, including taking direct action, is not antisemitic. Nor is it terrorism. We consider the proscription of Palestine Action as illegitimate and unethical.”

We oppose genocide as human beings. We oppose it because we are Jews who have learnt from our history to be vigilant against injustice and stand up for justice for all people, everywhere. For us, ‘Never again’ does not mean only crimes against Jews, let alone criticism of Israel, but never again by anyone.

At the press conference, I will also talk with other Left-wing Jews who have suffered the injustice of being victimised by the current party leadership.

Since Keir Starmer took over the party and hollowed it out into an effigy of Thatcher, Labour has relentlessly harried left-wing Jews, targeting them grossly disproportionately because they expose its antisemitic lie that all Jews support Israel and its crimes. In 2019, Manson received horrific antisemitic voice messages from an apparent Labour supporter; in 2021 she was suspended by the party for a factual interview on the BBC’s Newsnight programme but later reinstated after the threat of legal action.

Some Jews have died without seeing justice for Labour’s persecution.
