US and Israel deploy prohibited cluster munitions

The US has air-dropped anti-tank mines in southern Iran, which have killed several people so far.

Iran attacked

The mines appear to be US-made BLU-91/B anti-tank mines. They are part of the “Gator” scatterable mine system. Aircraft disperse them over a wide area to disable vehicles and restrict movement.

The Gator system is an:

air-delivered dispenser system or cargo bomb that distributes mines over an area. These dispensers contain a mixture of either 94 or 60 BLU-92/B anti-personnel and BLU-91/B anti-vehicle mines depending on which dispenser is used.

The mines are:

bi-directional, electro-mechanically armed, Self-Destruct (SD), Anti-Personnel (AP) landmine that is designed to wound or kill by its HE-Frag and deployed as part of the GATOR landmine delivery system.

And:

Dr NR Jenzen-Jones, Director of Armament Research Services, told Bellingcat that:

The BLU-91/B is dispensed from the CBU-78/B or CBU-89/B air-delivered cargo bombs (cluster munitions).

“The presence of square ‘aeroballistic adaptors’ indicates that the mines seen here were delivered by air. Similar mines can be dispensed from the vehicle- or helicopter-based Volcano system.”

Cluster munitions

Technically, the 2008 Convention on Cluster Munitions (CCM) prohibits the use, production, stockpiling or transfer of cluster munitions and requires states to ensure that they claim no further victims.

However, neither Israel nor the US signed the CCM. That might have something to do with them being some of the biggest producers of the weapon. Obviously, we already know that Israel and the US do not care about international law, especially when they could be making money.

The BLU-91/B is activated two minutes after being deployed. However, sometimes they fail to arm correctly or explode.

The mines also contain a self-destruct feature with variable delays of 4 hours, 48 hours, or 15 days. This means they can randomly explode hours or even days after the US dispenses them.

Unlike the BLU-92/B anti-personnel mines, the BLU-91/B anti-tank mines do not have an anti-handling device, meaning they don’t detonate when disturbed. However:

they may detonate when moved, because the mine may sense a significant change from its original orientation.

Of the countries involved in the illegal war on Iran and Lebanon, records show that the US is the only country that possesses Gator Scatterable Mines.

According to Bellingcat:

They were developed after the US stopped supplying arms to Iran. A review of Stockholm International Peace Research Institute’s (SIPRI) Arms Transfer Database, and US Major Arms Sales does not show any transfers of these mines to Israel.

Cluster munitions

The same pedo friends of Epstein, who double-tapped a girls‘ school in Minab, are now dropping a type of highly destructive cluster munitions on civilian villages.

The US preaches about freeing Iran from the ‘regime’, yet its initial attack was illegal and unprovoked. And now, it is deploying weapons which cannot distinguish between soldiers and children, or tanks and tractors. Once the US drops them from the sky, it has zero control over them.

The ICJ should be trying Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth, alongside Netanyahu and his cronies.
