Fascist US president Donald Trump has said that he wants to build a massive ‘Arc de Trump’ in Washington, DC, and claims that his is modelled on the famous Arc de Triomphe in Paris. The Paris monument’s construction was ordered by French dictator Napoleon to commemorate his victories, so there’s a certain aptness there – in the dictator bit, if not the victories and competence.
But Trump’s miniature of his planned self-aggrandisement doesn’t really bring that arch to mind, except in having – well, an arch:
Instead, with its gold (of course) statue and eagles on top it is much more reminiscent of the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin which, though not built by Hitler, was eagerly exploited by him in his Nazi parades and propaganda:
Which is entirely fitting, of course, given Trump’s collaboration in Israel’s Holocaust of the Palestinians in Gaza – but shame on the so-called ‘mainstream’ media for not pointing it out.
